You can find the Nova Scotia Nature Trust on iNaturalist!
iNaturalist is an open source, easy-to-use tool to help people share biodiversity information and learn about nature. It lets citizen scientists record observations, get help with identifications, see data from other iNaturalist users – and collaborate with others for a common purpose, like helping monitor biodiversity on protected land!
It’s easy to do. Simply visit one of our Conservation Lands, collect photographic observations of plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms, then upload them to the iNaturalist website or app. Observations recorded on our Conservation Lands are automatically shared with the Nova Scotia Nature Trust’s iNaturalist project.
The goal of this project is to increase biodiversity knowledge on the Nature Trust’s Conservation Lands and provide our supporters with another way to connect with nature. We hope you will help by adding your own species observations and by helping to identify any unidentified observations. From black bears to lichen, every observation is valuable and improves our understanding of the species found on our Conservation Lands and under our care.
We encourage everyone to practice ethical animal photography and ‘Leave No Trace’ principles when exploring and using iNaturalist on our Conservation Lands.
