The Nature Trust is working to protect 154 acres of habitat in our Tusket River Watershed focus area. The property hosts intact riparian, wetland, and forest habitats comprising significant carbon storage; these include Red Maple-Balsam Fir swamps, peatlands, and rare Red Maple floodplain forest. It also holds dozens of rare and at-risk lichens, including the first Canadian record of one lichen species that was subsequently classified as Critically Imperilled following the verification of the observation on the property.
Your gift today will help keep this important forested habitat for rare and at-risk species In Our Nature forever. No matter the size of your gift, you can make a huge impact on saving Nova Scotia’s natural legacy, right now.
