The Nature Trust is working to protect 203 acres of habitat for rare and at-risk lichens, including one species observed here for the first time in Atlantic Canada. The land also holds large areas of mature forest, wetlands, and extensive peatlands. With such high wetland coverage, and with the majority of wetlands being peatland bogs, this type of landscape has some of the highest concentrations of peat deposits in Nova Scotia.

Your gift today will help keep this important habitat for rare lichens In Our Nature forever. No matter the size of your gift, you can make a huge impact on saving Nova Scotia’s natural legacy, right now.
