Justin Trudeau and the Nature Trust
Justin Trudeau speaks from personal experience. As a boy, he had the privilege of traveling some of Canada's great canoe routes with his father, the late Pierre Elliot Trudeau. As a young man, he encouraged youth to discover themselves and discover Canada through the Katimavik experience. Now, as he readies himself to formally enter politics, Justin Trudeau continues to support what he knows to be true: the need to protect the environment, to speak out for what we believe in, and to give of ourselves in order to unite our country and our planet.
Despite a whirlwind schedule including numerous speaking engagements, Justin Trudeau took
the time to visit one of Nova Scotia's last few intact seaside wilderness areas.
He was moved by the beauty of the Nature Trust's Shelter Cove, and pleased to lend
his name to celebrate the public announcement of its permanent protection as Nature Trust
conservation lands. As Guest Speaker at the Nature Trust's Annual Dinner in 2006, he wowed
the audience with his passionate speech and charisma. The Nature Trust is grateful that Justin Trudeau is not afraid to speak out for wilderness, and
dares to be hopeful that we can save it.
