Aylesford/North Mountain Conservation Lands (Donation)

Aylesford/North Mountain Conservation Lands. 383 acres in Aylesford, Kings Co.
Donated by Mildred Clem

Significance

Representative woodlands.

Details

Mrs. Clem decided to make sure that some of the wild areas she roamed as a child were conserved for others to discover and enjoy. The 383 acre site that Mrs. Clem has donated, in addition to its remarkable local history, protects most notably a brook/ravine complex surrounded by some older forest, as well as some mixed forest, and old fields. Furthermore, Mrs. Clem’s generous donation helps to protect a portion of the Aylesford North Mountain, which at present is not suitably represented in the provincial protected area plan.
