Voglers Cove Conservation Land (Donation)
Significance
Undisturbed coastline, coastal habitats.
Details
Visionary conservationist Mary Hunter had the incredible foresight and generosity to have Voglers Cove protected, at a time when coastal land in Nova Scotia is being subdivided and developed like never before.
This unique site features undisturbed coastline and a diversity of associated coastal habitats. The coastal area includes four small coves and three distinct isthmuses that create a disproportionately long area of coastline relative to the overall area of the property. Three saltwater marshes and one pond are present. The central and eastern portion of the land support a predominantly conifer forest.
