Details

This land was given to the Nature Trust on a split-receipt (part donation, part purchase) by actress Jeanne Lange in memory of her late husband, David Haskell.

Both Jeanne and David were New York based actors well known for their roles in "Godspell," and the soap operas "Another World" and "Santa Barbara." During the summer of 1973 the couple took a camping trip to NS, fell in love with our province and purchased land on Gillfillan Lake.

Sadly, David passed away in 2000 before they could fulfill their dream of retiring to Nova Scotia. Jeanne recognized the national significance of the property and approached the Trust “to take good care of the land in his honour.”
