Nova Scotia Nature Trust | Nova Scotians Protecting Nova Scotia

** We did it! Thanks to our dedicated runners and generous pledgers, we raised over $3000 for land conservation in Nova Scotia! See below for a link to photos from the weekend.**

2015 Blue Nose Marathon - May 15-17

Join the Wilderness Soles!

Have fun, get fit and help protect Nova Scotia’s natural areas at the same time!  For the sixth year, we've signed up for the Blue Nose Marathon’s Scotiabank Charity Challenge. All participants in the Blue Nose marathon can join!  Simply register for a race event and the Charity Challenge and start collecting pledges in support of the Nature Trust. Or, if you're not able to participate, help us reach our fundraising goal by donating today!

This year, we have set a goal of having raising at least $10,000.  Together we can reach this goal!

Here's how you can help:

1. Walk or Run in the Blue Nose and raise funds for Nature!

There is a youth run, 5km, 10 km, and the half or full marathon—something for everyone, no matter your age or fitness level! And you choose your pace.

Once you've registered for one of the runs, you can then sign up for the charity challenge. Sign up for our Wilderness Soles team, or create a new Charity Challenge team with your friends, coworkers, dog-walking buddies, book club, etc. to raise money, increase the fun, and meet your fitness and fundraising goals together! Or fundraise on your own.

* The Wilderness Soles is made up of runners and walkers of all skill levels, and so we won't be running/walking in the event together. Just fundraising together! *

To get started:
Step 1: Register for one of the Blue Nose Marathon events - visit the Blue Nose registration page (we've linked to the EventsOnline registration page, which offers a degree of integration with the Charity Challenge registration page).

There are two options for registration, either through Events Online or the Running Room.

**Limited time opportunity!! If you can commit to raising at least $250, you can register for free (Limited spots available. First come first serve). Contact Mark Gillis at or 425-5263 BEFORE you register, for more info.**

Step 2: Register for the Charity Challenge
Go to the Charity Challenge page (you can link to it from the Blue Nose Marathon main page)
On the left hand side of the screen there are 2 options:

If you are new to the Charity Challenge, and have NOT registered through Events Online:

If you have previously participated in the Charity Challenge, OR if you DID register through Events Online:

Once registered, you can customize your personal webpage and send a link to all of your friends and family, so that they can support you! They can make a simple online gift, and receive a tax receipt immediately. You will also be listed on the Wilderness Soles team page, with a link to your personal fundraising page. We can also provide you with a donation form to collect cash and cheque pledges in person.

If these instructions are not cutting it, Blue Nose organizers have also put together this resource to help you out. Talk to our friendly staff at or 902-425-5263 if you have any questions!

2. Make a donation!

Your pledge can support a specific individual or our entire team, the Wilderness Soles! Visit the Wilderness Soles team page and click "Donate Now" to donate online.

3. Help Spread the Word!

You can help us by putting up posters or flyers at your office, gym, school, cafes or just about anywhere! You can also forward a Blue Nose email to your contacts. If you are interested please contact us at or call 902-425-5263. You can help by spreading the word online about our Team! Your efforts are always appreciated!

4. Volunteer!

Contact Nicole at or 902-425-5263 if you'd like to help us out during the event!

Have fun, get fit, and help to protect Nova Scotia’s natural legacy!
