By joining the 1% for the Planet initiative, Ascenta Health Ltd. is making a tremendous commitment to environmental responsibility. As Ascenta's provincial partner, the Nature Trust is honoured to be a part of this exciting initiative.
1% for the Planet is a global movement of over 700 companies that donate 1% of their sales to more than 1,500 environmental organizations. Ascenta will be providing over $80,000 by 2010 to support the Nature Trust’s land conservation efforts through the 1% for the Planet partnership.
Ascenta is the first natural health products manufacturer, and the first Nova Scotian company, to become a member of the organization 1% for the Planet. A homegrown business success based in Dartmouth, NS, Ascenta develops award-winning natural health products and is an industry leader in omega-3 fish oil supplements.
Ascenda's President, Marc St. Onge, wants to show that even small companies can make a difference, and aspires to build his support for the Nature Trust as the company grows.
